We are very excited to be a part of a select group of breeders that are dedicated and committed to the continued development of the Euro Russell (formerly known as Hunt Terrier) here in the states. We realize that this awesome breed will take many years of hard work before we will see the consistency of the current proposed Breed Standard. There is much to be done, pedigrees to be documented and confirmed. Establish relationships with our families so that we are able to document behavior and health issues. NO BREED IS PERFECT WE BREED FOR STRUCTURE, INTELLIGENCE AND CALM TEMPERAMENT! Here at Cedar Crest, we have set strict goals and guidelines, breeding only within our current hand selected group. The Euro Russell is a small, agile, extremely versatile, and active terrier. This terrier is one of many types of working terriers found in almost all of Europe. They have survived as an unregistered type of terrier because they are highly valued as working dogs. They are very similar to the "Russell Terrier" and come from some of the same bloodlines. Many say these dogs only differ because of their coloring, which is heavy marked to solid colored. These types are often crossed with one another, puppies born of solid coloration are classified as Euro Russell and Pied (white bodied) dogs are classified as "Russell Terriers". We are hopeful with the interest that we are experiencing from Euro Russell fanciers, it will furthermore prove that there is a desire and a need for dedicated breeders to become involved and participate in furthering the development of establishing a sound gene pool, producing prime examples of the breed that not only look good but, are able to maintain a history of........ Good Health, Sound Minds and Pleasing Personalities! |
Our dogs were either imported or the parents were imported from the Netherlands. Quality Breeding is not Cheap! We have invested a great deal of time and money into purchasing Premium Quality Euro Russell ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cedar Crest is also starting to breed the "Shorty Jack Russell Terriers". Also known as "Puddin Jacks". These are the short legged terriers. Will mature under 10" tall. We are keeping our numbers small. So we can also produce in the Shorty Jacks good health, sound minds and pleasing personalities and above all to be a... Loving Companion!
